They are sorted based on rates, where the most favorable rates are displayed first. The market is full of offers which you can browse in the “Trading” tab. You never know when or if your offer will be accepted, so it is a good idea to make sure your offer is fair to increase your chances. Enter the amount of the good you are looking for, and what you are willing to offer in return and then press “Create offer”. In the market window, you will find the “Create offer” tab. Joining a guild will also help you find favorable trades. You can trade at a poor rate with non-player (merchants), or at a much better rate with your fellow players. The trading function allows you to trade goods that you have for goods that you need. While it is possible for you to produce all goods in the game yourself if you unlock the right buildings, it is not very easy or efficient to do so, since this then requires space in your city, time, and deposits. You need all kinds of goods in order to advance in Forge of Empires.
